The original plan was two 25 mile hops anchoring in a bay. However with no depth reading & a wet day with strong wind warnings forecast for Monday, we did the 50 miles to La Coruna in one. A very industrious city on the North West Atlantic tip of Spain. With 3 metre swells and 30 knot winds forecast we are here for a few days.
Raymarine Spain did not have the depth transducer I needed, so arranged to have one shipped from a distributor in Bristol. The UPS tracker made interesting reading.

Absolutely brilliant. How come this service never seemed to quite work when ordering urgent Telecom Project Parts ! ( I suspect because the purchase order took longer than my credit card)
Apart from the stress of having the boat lifted amid much shouting of instructions by Spanish marineros, Coruna itself was an interesting city. We enjoyed local delicacy Pimentos de Padron in a restaurant, but when we tried to cook them on the boat, they were too hot to eat !
Coruna is the location of the Hercules Faro – The worlds oldest lighthouse dating back to Roman times.
The bagpipes are as common here as in Scotland ! but I guess they have to wear more clothes when playing them there!
