Our first crossing to France 2009

25th May - To L'Alberwrach

Tuesday
Back to the early starts ! Left at 6am to catch the tide, but yet another misty day motor sailing head into wind. Arrived L'Alberwrach at 2pm so time for a deserved siesta.
Spent Wednesday contemplating our final leg to Brest via the notorious Chenal du four. This is a narrow stretch of water between the mainland and some islands where the tide can run through at upto 10 knots. ( A yacht typically makes 5 knots headway) so time it wrong and you go backwards!
