27th May To Brest via Chenal du four

A 6am start to get the critical timing right to reach the Le Four Light House with the southerly tidal flow, entering the Chenal with a stream of about 3 knots and flying out the bottom by St Mathieu with about 8 knots of added tidal stream giving a speed over ground of about 12 knots.

We were lucky and although it was a grey miserable day, we did not encounter the adverse wind against tide steep seas frequent in this area.

With the good timing through the Chenal we were tied up in Breast Marina du Chateau by 1pm
