So having studied various weather forecasts several times over the weekend, we opted to head for Spain.
We departed St Dennis at 6am and motored out of the harbour. Within an hour as we rounded the north of the island we were beginning to wonder if we had made the right decision. The sea turned rough and waves washed over the foredeck. However this was a localised area of turmoil around the shallows of the Island and an hour later we were sailing at 6 knots over smooth sea towards Santander, an estimated 185 mile and 38 hours later !
